Use a private room with a clear desk and compliant camera view. Cover glass walls, glass doors and windows as current instructions require.

Remove papers, electronics and wall writing that could create a security concern.

Remain alone online

No other person may be in the testing area from check-in through completion. Audio, video, screen and microphone monitoring continue throughout the administration.

Prevent family, colleagues, deliveries or pets from creating an avoidable interruption.

GMAC advises both center and online candidates to begin check-in at least 30 minutes before the appointment.

Headphones, phones and smartwatches are prohibited throughout the exam and break.

A center supplies the equivalent of five erasable noteboards and replacements when needed. They must be returned.

Online candidates may use the approved digital whiteboard or a compliant physical erasable whiteboard with permitted markers and eraser.

Prepare the online physical whiteboard

Current policy permits a physical whiteboard no larger than 12 by 20 inches, up to two dry-erase markers and one eraser.

The board cannot be attached to a wall or surface and must be shown clean as instructed.

Practise with the correct scratch format

If choosing a center, practise on an erasable noteboard-style surface. If choosing online, practise with the exact approved whiteboard or digital tool.

Scratch organisation affects pacing, especially without a Quant calculator.

Compare optional break rules

Both routes include one optional 10-minute break after the first or second section. The chosen section order determines its possible placement.

Follow the on-screen process and return on time. Extra break time can reduce the next section.

Protect break security

Do not access a phone, notes, calculator or prohibited device during the break. Online camera and monitoring requirements continue.

Use the restroom or permitted action only through the authorised break process.

Compare technical support

At a center, raise your hand and report hardware, software or environmental issues immediately to staff.

Online, follow the remote proctor and official support process. If disconnected, current policy requires prompt re-entry and repeated check-in.
