GRE Last Week Checklist for Nepali Students

GRE Last Week Checklist for Nepali Students provides a seven-day plan for final review, realistic timing, error control, valid ID, test-center or at-home readiness, score recipients and test-day decisions. The final week should stabilise known methods and administration rather than introduce a new preparation system.

Information checked on 25 July 2026 against current ETS GRE structure, ID, test-center, at-home, score-reporting and Information Bulletin guidance. Recheck the live route-specific page because procedures can change.

Confirm the current GRE structure

The standard General Test takes about 1 hour 58 minutes. Analytical Writing comes first, followed by two Verbal and two Quant sections.

The essay is 30 minutes. Verbal sections contain 12 and 15 questions, while Quant sections also contain 12 and 15 under current timing.

Remember the no-break design

The current standard test has no scheduled break. At a center, an unscheduled break does not stop testing time; at-home rules prohibit taking a break during the session.

Practise the whole sequence and plan food, hydration and restroom use before check-in.

Freeze the resource list

Use only the official materials, notes and error logs already selected. Do not buy a new course or change strategy because of one anxious practice section.

Add a resource only for a narrow, urgent gap that can be applied and checked before test day.

Choose the final full-length test carefully

If a fresh official simulation remains, schedule it early enough to review and recover. Complete the essay and follow current timing.

Do not take a new full test every day. A simulation has value only when wrong, guessed, slow and changed answers are reviewed.

Set the final-week priorities

Choose at most one high-impact content gap, one verbal process issue, one quantitative process issue and one writing or pacing goal.

Write the evidence needed to close each priority. Avoid an unbounded list of everything you have ever missed.

Use Day 7 for a readiness check

Complete the planned final official simulation or two current-format sections if a full test is not appropriate. Record timing checkpoints and interface behaviour.

Do not judge readiness from the total alone. Identify the first cause of unstable answers and select only repairable priorities.

Use Day 6 for deep review

Review every wrong, guessed, low-confidence, slow and changed answer from the readiness check. Re-solve without viewing the answer.

Write a correction and one transfer test. Stop merely rereading explanations.

Use Day 5 for targeted repair

Repair the highest-value content and process gaps with small focused sets. Move from untimed accuracy to moderate timing.

Do not open another full mock. Verify that the corrected method works on changed questions.

Use Day 4 for mixed timing

Complete one mixed Verbal set and one mixed Quant set under current section-like timing. Include the formats that caused errors.

Practise skip, mark, review and answer-change rules. Check blanks before spending remaining time on marked items.

Use Day 3 for administrative checks

Confirm appointment date, local time, route, address or at-home link, account name, ID, score recipients and transport or equipment.

Resolve any mismatch through the official support route. Do not assume it can be fixed at check-in.

Use Day 2 for light consolidation

Review the short error-rule list, vocabulary trouble set, key Quant formulas and one writing outline. Use brief mixed questions only if they support confidence and rhythm.

Stop heavy testing early enough to preserve normal sleep and attention.

Use Day 1 for logistics and tapering

Prepare the valid physical ID, appointment information, route or room, permitted materials and recipient list. Recheck the live route-specific page.

Use only light recall and a few familiar warm-up questions. Do not attempt a late score rescue with a full mock.

Use test morning for routine

Follow a familiar wake, meal and travel or setup routine. Avoid trying a new supplement, food or study method.

Review appointment and ID once, then focus on arriving or signing in with time to follow instructions.

Audit the registered name

The first and last name on the ID must exactly match the registration, excluding accents under current ETS rules.

Compare every part now. Contact GRE Services before test day if the account and ID do not match.

Audit the physical ID

Check the current country and test-location requirements. Use an original physical, valid and acceptable document with required identity features.

Inspect expiry, photograph, signature and condition. A phone image or photocopy is not a substitute under general rules.

Prepare supplemental ID when needed

Some circumstances require or may prompt supplemental identification. Review the applicable ETS instructions.

Bring only documents accepted for your citizenship and testing location. A second invalid card does not help.

Confirm the test-center route

Check the center name, full address, building entrance, local test time and appointment number. Plan transport and a backup margin.

ETS instructs center candidates to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Include traffic, parking and building security.

Prepare for center storage rules

Personal items must be stored according to administrator instructions. Do not expect access to a phone, watch, notes, bag, food or personal calculator.

Leave unnecessary valuables at home and follow all security inspections.

Prepare simple center clothing

Choose comfortable clothing and minimal accessories that can be inspected. Follow current rules for masks and approved accommodations.

Do not bring unauthorised aids in pockets or clothing.

Confirm the at-home equipment

Run the ETS Secure Browser equipment check on the actual computer and network at a similar time of day. Resolve bandwidth, camera, microphone and software issues.

Disable prohibited applications and automatic launchers according to current instructions. A prior successful test does not prove the current setup is ready.

Prepare the at-home room

Use a private, quiet room with the required door, desk, seating and camera view. Remove papers, extra screens, electronics and unauthorised items.

Follow the current room-scan and permitted scratch-material rules exactly.

Complete at-home identity steps

Complete any required identity verification shown in your ETS account within the stated deadline. Keep the same valid physical ID ready for the proctor.

Resolve a rejection or name mismatch before the appointment rather than relying on an exception.

Practise no-talking behaviour at home

Current at-home rules prohibit talking aloud, looking away repeatedly, leaving camera view or communicating with anyone other than the proctor.

Practise silent reasoning and keeping your gaze within the permitted area.

Prepare the score-recipient list

The test fee includes up to four score recipients selected on test day. Record official institution and department codes and verify each programme’s reporting rule.

Do not make the end-of-test screen your first programme search.

Understand ScoreSelect choices

At the end of the General Test, current choices include Most Recent or All for included recipients. Later paid reports can offer other options.

Some programmes require all administrations. Follow the receiving programme’s instructions.

Understand report versus cancel

At the end, you choose whether to report or cancel. Learn the current cancellation and reinstatement rules before the appointment.

If you cancel, you do not first view unofficial Verbal and Quant scores. Decide from policy knowledge rather than surprise.

Expect unofficial section scores

If you report, unofficial Verbal and Quant scores appear at the end. Analytical Writing is not immediately available because it requires scoring.

Official scores are normally available in the ETS account 8-10 days after testing.

Review the Issue essay routine

Practise reading the exact task, choosing a defensible position, outlining reasons and examples, drafting and reserving review time within 30 minutes.

Use flexible reasoning, not a memorised essay. The prompt directions control the response.

Review Verbal response rules

Confirm single-answer, multiple-answer and passage-selection directions. For Text Completion, all blanks must work together; for Sentence Equivalence, choose two answers that complete equivalent meanings.

Read the current question, not the pattern you hope to see.

Review Quant response rules

Confirm Quantitative Comparison choices, selection-count instructions and Numeric Entry formats. Estimate before using the calculator.

Check signs, units, case restrictions and answer transfer. Wrong answers do not subtract points, so answer every question.

Use section checkpoints

Set two or three question-and-time checkpoints for each Verbal and Quant section based on official practice.

Use them to adjust pace calmly. Do not spend the final minute discovering several unanswered questions.

Use a two-pass approach when appropriate

Complete accessible questions first, mark items with a clear reason and return while the section remains open.

Do not mark everything. Reserve enough time to check blanks and deliberate changes.

Control answer changes

Change an answer when new evidence, a corrected calculation or a recognised rule supports it.

Avoid changes driven only by discomfort. Review your error log for personal right-to-wrong patterns.

Build a one-page final review sheet

Include only high-frequency formulas, response rules, personal pacing checkpoints, verbal clue reminders and essay process.

Do not add long word lists or new chapters. The sheet is for recall before test day, not for the secure testing room.

Protect normal sleep and meals

Keep a stable routine in the final days and choose familiar food and hydration. Avoid studying through the normal sleep period.

The goal is predictable attention, not a dramatic final-night effort.

Prepare for a technical or procedural issue

At a center, raise your hand and follow administrator instructions. At home, communicate through the proctor or official support process.

Record non-content administrative details afterward if follow-up is needed. Never copy secure test content.

Know the security boundaries

Do not record, copy, photograph, reconstruct for distribution or discuss secure questions. Use only authorised materials and tools.

Security violations can lead to dismissal, score cancellation and fee loss.

Use the official final check

Review the official GRE test-day hub, current test structure and route-specific page.

The live ETS Bulletin and instructions take priority over an old checklist.

Follow a seven-step final-week rule

Check readiness; review deeply; repair narrow gaps; rehearse mixed timing; verify administration; consolidate lightly; then taper and execute the familiar plan.

Keep the process written so anxiety does not redesign it each day.

Connect test day with applications

For programme, recipient and overseas-study planning, visit MKS Education. For final GRE review and pacing support, explore MKS Prep. Verify all programme policies directly.

Keep recipient codes and deadlines with the application worksheet, separate from secure test notes.
