On 25 July 2026, selecting Nepal on the official GMAT Exam Payment page showed US$250 for an exam delivered at a test center and US$275 for an exam delivered online. These are registration prices before any card conversion cost or other applicable charge shown at checkout.

Treat the live table as the controlling source. Do not rely on a screenshot, old preparation article or another country’s amount because GMAC states that fees can vary by country, currency and delivery format.

Compare the two delivery prices correctly

The current online registration price for Nepal is US$25 higher than the test-center price. That difference alone should not decide the route.

Add travel, accommodation, reliable internet, a compliant computer, room privacy and programme acceptance. A lower headline price can become a higher practical cost when logistics are included.

Check programme acceptance before paying

Every university and programme controls whether it accepts the current GMAT, an online result, a test-center result or both. Confirm the rule for the exact degree and intake.

GMAC policy places this responsibility on the candidate and does not promise a registration-fee refund when a programme later finds the applicant or delivery route ineligible.

Build the full GMAT budget

Budget for registration, possible rescheduling, score reports, preparation materials, travel, meals, accommodation, internet backup and card conversion. Keep a separate contingency amount rather than spending the entire budget on the first checkout.

A complete plan also protects an eligible retake. Each new attempt normally requires another full registration payment, so choose an initial date after evidence of readiness.

Understand the additional score-report fee

The official Nepal table showed Additional Score Reports at US$35 each for both test-center and online delivery. Confirm the current score-sending options and timing before ordering.

Build a verified recipient list with the programme name, campus, degree and intake. Once a score is sent, GMAC says the action cannot be undone, so a careful recipient check also protects money.

Know the accepted card networks

The official payment page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover Network credit or debit cards. The methods actually available to you can still depend on country, bank and service.

Ask the card issuer whether international online transactions, sufficient limits and any verification step are enabled. Never share a one-time password or full card details with an untrusted registration agent.

Using another person’s card

Current GMAT payment guidance permits use of another person’s credit card, such as a family member’s, employer’s or sponsor’s card, when the cardholder has authorised it.

Keep clear permission and enter accurate billing information. An authorised sponsor payment is different from using a card without consent, which can lead to transaction, appointment or score cancellation.

Recognise the merchant description

The official page says a test-center charge will most likely appear as VUE*GRAD MGMT TEST. An online exam charge will most likely appear as TALVIEW.INC.

Tell the cardholder what description and amount to expect. This reduces the risk of a mistaken dispute after a legitimate booking.

Prepare for currency conversion

The Nepal table is displayed in US dollars. A Nepali card issuer may convert the transaction to rupees using its exchange rate and may apply lawful international transaction charges.

Ask the bank for the applicable conversion and charge policy before checkout. Use the final bank-posted amount for personal budgeting, while keeping the official US-dollar receipt.

What happens when a card is declined

GMAC states that a declined credit or debit card causes the appointment to be automatically cancelled. The candidate must schedule another appointment with a valid payment method.

Do not assume a seat is reserved after a failed transaction. Check the mba.com dashboard and confirmation email before making travel plans.

Avoid duplicate payment attempts

After a successful-looking checkout, allow the account to update and inspect the dashboard before submitting payment again. Save any reference number and bank alert.

If the appointment remains missing, use official GMAT Customer Care with the transaction details. Repeated clicks can create confusion even when the first authorisation is still processing.

Never use a fraudulent payment method

GMAC prohibits stolen, fraudulent or unauthorised payment methods. Consequences can include registration cancellation, cancellation of previous scores and notification to schools or law enforcement.

Use only a method the cardholder has approved. A cheap third-party offer is not worth risking the exam record and future applications.

Do not reverse a valid charge

Current policy prohibits cancelling payment for a product or service received or ordered. A wrongful card dispute can lead to appointment or score cancellation and a block on future exams or score reports.

Use Customer Care to resolve a genuine billing issue. Keep the receipt, appointment confirmation and correspondence as evidence.

Understand reschedule fees

For Nepal, the official table showed test-center rescheduling at US$50 more than 60 days before the appointment, US$100 at 15-60 days and US$150 at 14 days or less. Online fees were US$55, US$110 and US$165 for the same windows.

Earlier action costs less. Compare the change fee with readiness, application deadlines and the risk of paying for a weak attempt.

Understand cancellation refunds

The official Nepal table showed test-center refunds of US$100 more than 60 days before the appointment, US$75 at 15-60 days and US$50 at 14 days or less. Online refunds were US$110, US$80 and US$55.

These figures are refunds, not cancellation charges. Read the label carefully and verify the exact amount shown in your account before confirming.

Respect the 24-hour cutoff

The official table states that an appointment cannot be rescheduled or cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time. Failing to act more than 24 hours before the appointment forfeits the entire exam fee.

Do not plan around the final minute. Time zones, account access and payment processing can turn a late change into a no-show loss.

Know the phone service fee

GMAT policies allow online rescheduling or cancellation for test-center and online appointments. Phone changes are available only for a test-center appointment and can add a US$10 service fee.

An accommodated appointment follows the contact instructions in its decision letter. Verify the route before calling or changing anything.

Use vouchers correctly

A voucher code may reduce or cover an exam or service according to its issuer’s terms. Check the recipient, value, expiration, delivery format and allowed use before scheduling.

GMAC policies say an exam voucher or fee waiver cannot be applied to rescheduling fees and is not refundable except where law requires. Online and test-center instruments may also be route-specific.

Understand fee waivers

GMAT fee waivers are generally distributed through participating business schools or approved programmes, not directly to an individual simply because the individual asks GMAC.

Ask target schools early and follow their eligibility process. A waiver does not guarantee that an appointment will be available before the code expires.

Protect voucher ownership

Vouchers and waivers are intended for their authorised recipient and may not be sold, redistributed or transferred contrary to the terms. Expired instruments normally cannot be used or redeemed for cash.

Do not buy a code from an informal seller. Misuse can cause exam or score cancellation.

Plan the payment date

Pay only after the account name, date of birth, citizenship, ID route, programme acceptance and appointment details have been verified. Correcting a profile close to test day may take time.

GMAT policy says personal account changes must be completed at least 72 hours before the exam, while demographic changes may need longer processing.

Save a complete payment record

Keep the checkout page, receipt, appointment confirmation, amount, currency, merchant description, date and transaction reference. Store them securely.

A clean record helps when an appointment is missing, a bank needs verification or Customer Care reviews a billing concern.

Check the appointment after payment

Confirm the exact legal name, delivery route, date, local time, location and status in the mba.com dashboard. Do not rely only on the bank alert.

For a test center, verify the full address and travel time. For online delivery, verify the country, time zone and system requirements.

Budget for a possible retake

Current rules require at least 16 days between attempts and allow up to five online and test-center attempts combined in a rolling 12-month period. A new eligible attempt is not free.

Reserve money only when a retake remains useful before programme deadlines. Diagnose the first result before buying another date.

Avoid common fee mistakes

Do not quote a United States or India price for Nepal, confuse a refund with a fee, ignore the 24-hour cutoff, assume a voucher covers rescheduling or pay before programme and ID checks.

Also avoid sharing card credentials, using an unauthorised code or booking through a page that is not the official mba.com account workflow.
