IELTS Score Sending Guide for Nepali Students explains how to share an official IELTS result with universities, professional bodies and other organisations. Candidates should confirm whether each receiver uses electronic delivery or paper Test Report Forms, select the exact organisation in the portal, record the request and allow time for the result to be matched to the application.
Information checked on 25 July 2026 against current official IELTS and British Council Nepal result-sharing guidance.

Confirm the score requirement first
Check the accepted test type, overall band, component minimums, validity and deadline on the official programme page. Sending an ineligible result quickly does not complete the requirement.
Record the condition and the date checked. Policies can differ by course and intake within one university.
Wait for the official result document
The Test Report Form or electronic eTRF is the official confirmation of IELTS performance. A score preview or screenshot may not satisfy an organisation’s verification process.
British Council Nepal currently provides eTRFs for many computer test takers through the Test Taker Portal. Follow the process linked to the original booking.
Ask how the organisation receives scores
Some institutions use IELTS Results Service e-delivery, while others request a paper report or allow an applicant-uploaded eTRF. The receiver decides the accepted route.
Check the application page or ask the admissions office. Do not choose postal delivery only because it seems more official.
Use the Test Taker Portal
The provider portal can allow candidates to select organisations and request electronic result delivery. Sign in with the registered account or reference details.
Review the organisation name, campus and country before confirmation. Similar names can represent a different institution or branch.
Find the correct organisation account
Use the exact name supplied by the university for IELTS electronic delivery. Confirm whether a graduate school, college system or campus has its own entry.
When uncertain, ask the institution for the account name rather than selecting the first search result.
Include application identifiers
Universities may need the applicant name, date of birth, application number or another identifier to match the score. Use the same personal details across IELTS and the application where possible.
Record any mismatch or alternate spelling and tell the admissions office through its official channel.
Understand electronic delivery
Recognising organisations can receive and verify scores securely through the IELTS Results Service. Electronic delivery can remove postal time but still requires institutional matching.
Official IELTS guidance allows e-delivery to participating organisations through the booking portal or test centre process.
Understand paper delivery
When an organisation requires a paper Test Report Form, the test centre sends it under the provider’s process. Confirm the complete postal address and possible courier fee.
Do not mail an ordinary photocopy when the institution requires a report sent directly by IELTS.
Check Nepal eTRF processing
British Council Nepal says computer test takers can download an eTRF and request electronic sending through the portal. Additional eTRF requests may take working days to process.
Use the current result page for timing and document requirements. Leave a margin before the application deadline.
Plan for result validity
IELTS recommends a two-year validity period, while receiving organisations set their own policy. The institution may measure age at application, enrolment or another stage.
Confirm the rule before paying for delivery of an older result. A valid provider document may still be too old for the programme.
Send the correct report after EOR
If an Enquiry on Results changes a band, use the updated official Test Report Form for future sharing. Check whether previously selected organisations receive the update automatically.
Do not assume the old application record will refresh. Confirm receipt of the revised score with the institution.
Send One Skill Retake results carefully
A One Skill Retake report contains the updated section and original other scores. Confirm that the receiving organisation accepts this result type before sending it.
The original and updated reports can both exist. Choose the report that matches the organisation’s stated policy.
Track every request
Maintain a table with institution, application ID, delivery method, request date, provider status and university receipt. Save confirmations and correspondence.
This separates a submitted request from a score actually matched to the application.
Check the application portal
After the provider’s processing window, open the university portal to see whether IELTS is marked received. Allow the institution its published matching time.
If it remains missing, compare identity details and contact the correct admissions or document-processing office.
Avoid last-minute sending
Work backward from the deadline using result release, provider processing, postal or electronic delivery and institutional matching. Build extra time for corrections.
A fast computer result does not guarantee same-day completion in the university system.
Protect personal information
Share the eTRF and Test Report Form number only through intended application systems or trusted support. These documents contain personal and result details.
Avoid posting full reports in public groups. Use secure portals and official email addresses.
Handle a closed test centre
Official IELTS guidance provides an Additional Test Report Form route when a test centre has closed, generally for results within the relevant availability period and for a cost.
Use the current IELTS instructions rather than sending documents to an inactive centre.
Use current official sources
Review official IELTS score-sharing guidance, the British Council Nepal results page and the receiver’s application instructions.
Provider limits, fees and processing times can change. Confirm the live policy before each request.
Connect score sending with the application
For institution selection, application tracking and study-abroad counselling, visit MKS Education. For a retake diagnostic and IELTS preparation, explore MKS Prep.
Send an accepted official report early enough for the institution to verify and match it before the deadline.
