Use the correct Nepal fee table

Select Nepal on the official Exam Payment page every time you consider a change. Country, delivery format and the time remaining before the appointment determine the displayed amount.

The figures in this guide were read from the live Nepal table on 25 July 2026. Treat the account confirmation as final if an official update changes them.

Rescheduling more than 60 days before

The official Nepal table showed a US$50 reschedule fee for a test-center appointment and US$55 for an online appointment when more than 60 days remained.

This is the lowest listed tier. If preparation evidence already shows the date is unrealistic, acting now can protect both money and study quality.

Rescheduling 15 to 60 days before

The displayed fee was US$100 for a test-center appointment and US$110 for an online appointment in the 15-60-day window.

Compare this cost with the value of extra preparation and the risk of missing an application round. Use official mock evidence rather than anxiety alone.

Rescheduling 14 days or less before

The displayed fee was US$150 for a test-center appointment and US$165 for an online appointment when 14 days or less remained, provided the change was still more than 24 hours before the appointment.

This higher tier can approach a large share of registration cost. Confirm the replacement slot before submitting the change.

Cancellation more than 60 days before

The official Nepal table showed a US$100 refund for a test-center cancellation and US$110 for an online cancellation when more than 60 days remained.

The listed number is the amount returned, not the amount charged. Keep the cancellation confirmation and compare it with the eventual card credit.

Cancellation 15 to 60 days before

The displayed refund was US$75 for a test-center appointment and US$80 for an online appointment in the 15-60-day window.

Before cancelling, confirm whether changing to another useful date would produce more value than receiving the smaller refund.

Cancellation 14 days or less before

The displayed refund was US$50 for a test-center appointment and US$55 for an online appointment when 14 days or less remained but the 24-hour cutoff had not arrived.

Act promptly after a firm decision. Waiting can move the appointment into the no-change period and eliminate the refund.

Respect the exact 24-hour cutoff

The official Nepal table states that appointments cannot be rescheduled or cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time. The entire exam fee is forfeited if the change is not made more than 24 hours before.

Use the appointment’s displayed local date and time. Do not calculate loosely from another time zone or wait for the final minute.

Understand a no-show

Failing to attend without a completed eligible change causes forfeiture of the full exam fee. Closing a page, skipping check-in or telling a tutor does not cancel the appointment.

GMAT policy says a candidate who misses an appointment may schedule again after a 24-hour waiting period without waiting the normal full 16 days, but must pay the complete registration fee.

Reschedule online step by step

Log in to the official mba.com account, locate the active appointment, choose Reschedule, select the new date and time, and complete checkout. The change is not complete until the account saves it.

Review delivery route, local time and price in the summary. Save the new confirmation and remove the old calendar event.

Cancel online step by step

Log in, locate the scheduled appointment, choose Cancel and follow the on-screen prompts to final confirmation. Stop before the final action if the displayed refund or appointment is not the one expected.

After confirmation, check that the dashboard no longer shows an active appointment and store the cancellation record.

Changing a test-center appointment by phone

GMAT policy permits a test-center appointment to be rescheduled or cancelled by phone. A US$10 service fee can apply in addition to the normal change terms.

Online appointments should use the online workflow. For an accommodated appointment, use the contact instructions in the approval decision letter.

Do not assume route conversion

Changing a date is not necessarily the same as converting an online appointment into a test-center appointment or the reverse. Delivery availability, price, ID rules and programme acceptance can differ.

Read the exact account workflow or ask official Customer Care before cancelling one route to purchase another.

Check the replacement date first

Search real appointment availability and calculate whether the replacement date leaves enough time for the Official Score Report and programme processing.

GMAT scores are typically available in 3-5 days but can occasionally take up to 20 days. A later seat that misses the deadline is not a useful reschedule.

Use official practice evidence

Review recent full official practice scores, section stability, unanswered questions and timing. One difficult study day is weak evidence; repeated results below a programme-linked range may justify more time.

Pair the evidence with a written repair plan. Rescheduling without changing preparation only moves the same risk.

Protect a possible retake

Current rules require at least 16 days between completed attempts and permit up to five online and test-center attempts combined in a rolling 12-month period.

A rescheduled first attempt should still leave a legal and useful retake window before the application deadline where possible.

Handle emergencies through official support

For a medical emergency, military obligation, bereavement or other recognised exceptional situation, use the official GMAT Customer Care guidance rather than assuming a normal late refund.

Provide truthful documentation requested for review. An emergency request is not an automatic approval, and the outcome depends on current policy and evidence.

Handle a missed appointment

If the appointment has already been missed, check the dashboard and current Customer Care article for the correct next action. The ordinary change button may no longer be available.

Do not submit a false emergency claim. Record what happened and rebuild the timeline, including the 24-hour wait and full new registration cost described in current policy.

Account for time zones

Online and test-center confirmations use appointment details that must be read carefully. Record the local testing time, country and time zone in the application calendar.

When travelling, daylight-saving or location differences can affect the real countdown. Base the 24-hour cutoff on the confirmed appointment, not memory.

Correct profile information early

A name, date-of-birth or demographic correction is not the same as rescheduling. Current policy says personal account changes must be completed at least 72 hours before the exam and some edits need longer.

Contact official support as soon as a mismatch is found. Moving the appointment may be necessary, but it does not itself correct identity data.

Accommodated appointment changes

Candidates with approved testing accommodations must follow the contact details and scheduling instructions in the decision letter. Standard online steps may not preserve approved arrangements.

Verify that the new appointment includes the approved accommodation before accepting the change.

Understand voucher restrictions

GMAT exam vouchers and fee waivers generally cannot be used to pay rescheduling fees and are not refundable except where required by law.

A reissued or special voucher can have its own expiration and route restrictions. Read the exact issuer terms before changing an appointment.

Keep change and refund records

Save the old appointment, requested action, timestamp, displayed fee or refund, transaction reference, new confirmation and any Customer Care case number.

Monitor the card account for the refund using the issuer’s processing period. Use official support rather than an immediate chargeback when a legitimate refund needs investigation.

Avoid a wrongful payment dispute

GMAC warns that wrongfully disputing a valid charge can cause appointment or score cancellation and block future exams or score-report requests.

Document the issue and seek official resolution first. Use a bank dispute only for a genuine unauthorised transaction and provide accurate facts.

Audit the new appointment

After rescheduling, verify legal name, delivery route, date, local time, test-center address or online country and status. Take nothing from the old confirmation.

Update preparation milestones, travel, system checks, passport validity and programme reporting dates.

Audit a completed cancellation

Confirm that the appointment is cancelled, note the expected refund and remove reminders that could create confusion. Do not schedule another attempt until the revised plan is ready.

If the programme no longer requires the GMAT, store the source and access date so the decision remains auditable.

Avoid common change mistakes

Do not confuse a refund with a fee, count days without checking the 24-hour rule, abandon checkout before confirmation, assume a phone call is free or rely on another country’s table.

Also avoid cancelling before verifying replacement availability, programme route acceptance or voucher restrictions.
